Grim Soul Dark Fantasy Survival

Grim Soul Dark Fantasy is the 2nd game that developed by Andrey Pryakhin on IOS platform.  The best developed game is called The Last day on Earth, and it is well hits.  Grim Soul Dark Fantasy has the same gameplay style as the last day on earth.  Instead of against zombies in modern days, it is against dark magic in the dark ages fantasy.

The gameplay is very similar to Last day of Earth, well actually, I think we should say the SAME!!!.  

First we have the similar map as the last day of earth, there are different locations to get rocks or woods with different levels.  Gatekeeper to find the key for the dungeon.  NPC players to get more resources, and an area that you won't able to reach.

It is a game of farming resources!!!

Farming is the key of this game, at the beginning you will have to gather wood, rock, grass.  Later then you would need to go to the dungeons to get unique items from chests.   However, if you need to go to the dungeons, you would need well equipped.

The key of farming is to use the least equipment to get the most, so I usually only bring foods and club to farm woods, rocks, or coppers.

Level and Crafting

After you gather enough resources like woods, then you can start crafting basic tools, such as club, axe and pick.  You would need Axe for trees and pick for big rocks and copper.  Very fast, you will realize that you cannot able to make higher level of items, since you don't know where to get those resources.  Yes, that is the same issue when you play last day of earth, it is damn HARD.  For example, if you want to craft stable, you would need to have item called Bridle.  It is a unique item, which means it is hard to find, even if you keep going to the dungeons and look for chests.  You may ended up buying from them, and maybe that is how they made the money.

To create a Leather bag, you would need to get the blueprint first, and as it said, you have to find it in the dungeons.

New Elements 

The major different between the last day on earth and grim soul is the books systems.  Sometimes you would able to find books in the chests, and you can learn the skills from the books.  This will give you a boost on the specific skills.  

 

Events

There are events that you can get better loots, but more dangerous.  However, to trigger the event, your energy level must below to 50% and there is time limit of the event, so that you MUST have enough energy to run to the event, in which make the event so hard to do.  

Gameplay and Tips

At the beginning, you should keep levelling by farming basic resources.  Even get yourself to level 99 is easier than running around in the dangerous area when well equipped.  After you get enough level, then you should store coppers, clothes and leathers.  After that you have enough of those, you should craft weapons and armours to do the dungeons and events.  Yes, it is quite waste of time.

My Thoughts 

I have played Last day on Earth, and would like better and greater element to put into this new game. However, I have found that the gameplay are very similar to the last day on earth.  The worst things is that it didn't improve the most complaint area of last day on earth - 50% to trigger the event.  Thinking why the developer doing this at all, since it just ruined the game.  WHY, the event has to be related to your energy?  It just doesn't make sense at all.  The only reason is that he want you to buy energy.  BAD practice.  

The gameplay idea is good, but it is too hard and too waste time to play.   I would still play the game, but if it have a better idea on PvP, or more interaction between player, then that would be great.  I would give this game 7/10.
